L'Aquila is a middle size town near Rome and not far from the mountains. In the pictures a view of the town, the market, Duomo Square and the main mountain nearby: "Gran Sasso". See some info ont the tow& & some pictures. Recently L'Aquila has been devastated by an earthquake (here some images of the disaster). The Monastery "Santo Spirito" however  did not receive any damage. The Monastery is located 15 Km from L'Aquila. Some connection will be organized for people arriving at  L'Aquila (just write to the local organizator: ai@cc.univaq.it).
